Some of these directories ask for a reciprocal link. Do I have to give them one?

Because directories want more people to link to them, many of them will make it look like a reciprocal link is required when in reality it isn’t. Just do the submission and leave the reciprocal link information blank. If they don’t allow you to submit your site without it just move on to the next directory.

How long does it take for a directory to accept my website?

We at One Way Text Link has sought to bring you the most complete list of free and paid web directories on the internet. We don’t however have any control over these directories and therefore we can’t tell you how long a directory will take to include your site after submission. Some directories will include you within 24 hours, others could take months.

How can I tell if my site has been accepted into a directory?

In order to tell if your website has been accepted into a web directory you need to go back to that actual directory and search for your site there. Since we are not affiliate with these directories we don’t have the ability to see if your site is accepted. Many web directories will send you a confirmation email when your website has been included.

I’m on the list of free directories but some of them aren’t free. What’s the deal?

Many web directories will offer free submissions and then at some point decide to offer only paid submissions. We don’t have any control over this so you might come across web directories in the free list that are no longer free. We go through the entire list on occasion and take out directories that are no longer free but you can expect to see this every now and again.
